Texas’ labor force reached a historic high through the first quarter of 2026, with growth reflected in College Station-Bryan. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas now has the largest labor force in state history at nearly 16 million workers. In College Station-Bryan, the local labor force grew from 152,000 in July 2025 to nearly 160,000 by December.
According to the Texas A&M Private Research Center, the local economy is doing well. This week, they released their monthly economic indicators for November and December of 2025. Researchers use the Business-Cycle Index to measure the overall health of the local economy.
The College Station City Council approved a letter of intent Thursday with The Station Baseball LLC for a proposed baseball and softball complex in the Midtown Business Park, marking the first formal step toward a potential economic development agreement.
