Aerospace & Defense

College Station is home to one of the nation’s leading aerospace engineering programs supporting research and workforce development in aerospace engineering, space systems, hypersonics, autonomous aircraft and robotics, advanced materials, satellite materials, and defense-related engineering. Texas A&M researchers operate specialized facilities including wind tunnels, flight simulation systems, robotics laboratories, and hypersonics research facilities that support both commercial and defense applications.

National Security

College Station has become a nationally recognized center for homeland security, cybersecurity, emergency preparedness, defense research, nuclear security, weapons detection, critical infrastructure protection, military applications of emerging technologies, and hypersonics research. Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) serves more than 236,000 participants annually, reaching every U.S. state and more than 125 countries through their training programs.

Energy

Energy has long been a cornerstone of the Texas A&M engineering ecosystem. College Station supports research and workforce development in oil and gas technologies, grid modernization, energy storage, nuclear energy, renewable energy, carbon management, process safety, and energy infrastructure resilience. Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) maintains dedicated Energy and Power research initiatives and has established centers focused on wind energy, smart grid technologies, and energy systems innovation.
